Jumanji!

Sorry it's been a while since my last update. For now, though, let me just say I hate cellular signal cascades. Trying to wrap one's brain around the names of the components involved is maddening enough. For example, here is a short list of real proteins that are actually named as follows:

Lozenge
Groucho
Brother
Trance
Frizzled
Disheveled
Sevenless
Son of Sevenless
Bride of Sevenless
Dickkopf
Sprouty
Jumonji
Sonic Hedgehog

I mean, seriously... Who comes up with these names?
They got me thinking, though... if I discovered a new protein, what would I call it? Anyone have good suggestions?
Off the top of my head, I'm thinking 'Glayvin' or, since many proteins follow a 3-letter nomenclature, 'Meh'

Vune.

I've always dreamed of having a protein named after something a friend of mine accidently called me when he was drunk.

Kunk
Chox
